Walking in the Arctic Wind
Inuit Art Sculpture: Walking in the Arctic Wind by Thomas Sevoga
Description:
This is a beautiful depiction of an Inuit Woman, wearing the traditional "Amautik" parka, with the big hood to hold the baby, walking in the frigid, brisk Arctic wind. They hold their parkas at the side, as this woman has, so that it does not blow off her head and expose the baby to the arctic weather. As we can see from the position of her feet, she is walking directly into the wind.
